James 4:8

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

God is always seeking true worshippers. Men and women who will seek him with all their hearts. Prophet Isaiah speaks of a time when the Lord can be found (Isaiah 55:6 “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near”), a time when he is near. Today the Lord is near, today he can be found! The door is open, God is making a call, He says “Draw near to me and He will draw near to you”.

The closer you get to Jesus the more your recognize you need him more

One day I and my evangelism team went out to share the good news of salvation, after talking about Christ to a “rich man”, he replied with a stern face ” What can your God give to me? can’t you see I am already blessed and living a good life? take your message to the poor and needy in Africa!

You see friend, Jesus never promised you riches on earth, He never promised “a good life” on earth, Jesus promised salvation for your soul when you die. He promised resurrection after death, He promised a reunion with your creator (God). Do not be carried away by this present life… the things you see today are not as powerful as things you do not see, there is more to our existence than our physical life here on earth.

The devil uses the things of this world to blind the eyes of men…  Their bodies prosper in wealth and “good life” while their spirits stagger in darkness. Truth is found in Jesus, the light our spirits need can only be found in Jesus.

Remember, no matter how well nurtured your body is, its end is dust but your spirit lives on.

Today we can still make the decision of drawing near to God, tomorrow, the call may be no more. Jesus is the essence of our existence… Through Him (Jesus) all things were made.

Make a step towards God by saying this prayer today: Lord Jesus, remove this darkness from me, enlighten my spirit and give me power to know the truth. Amen!

If you made this prayer, begin to study God’s word as his word will bring light to your spirit.
