Jude 1:3-4

Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people. For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about[b] long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.

In Matthew 13:44, Jesus teaches that the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, when a man finds it, he sells all he has to secure it. This tells us that when we find Jesus, there is need to do all we can to retain the fire burning in us. As children of God, we should flee from whatever is not in agreement with the spirit of God withing us. As we have been saved through grace, it is important to note that the grace of God is not a license to sin but an empowerment to righteousness.

God has called us out of darkness into his holy light. It is his desire that we offer daily sacrifices of rejecting sin and choosing his righteousness.

Prayer: Lord your grace gives me power to live a holy life. I ask you help me represent you each day in Holy living. Amen
