Psalm 42:1-3

As the deer pants for water, so I long for you, O God. 2 I thirst for God, the living God. Where can I find him to come and stand before him? 3 Day and night I weep for his help, and all the while my enemies taunt me. “Where is this God of yours?” they scoff

There must be a constant thirst for God in the life of every Christian. We must desire more of God every day of our lives. Paul the apostle after all experience he had gathered of Christ still exclaimed: “that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection”.

The thirst for God keeps our eyes on Him. The moment we begin to lose that thirst, the moment we begin to fall. We begin to move away from God, issues of life begin to weigh us down and we start pursuing our own righteousness. God wants us to constantly seek Him. For it is in our seeking we find fulfillment.

One remedy I have personally discovered for spiritual dryness is fasting. When we fast we last. Fasting makes us long for God more. Fasting sets our focus on receiving from God and in the processes helps us learn more about God.

The feeling of being Spiritually dry happens to believers from time to time. This dryness is as a result of the flesh. As a remedy, God has given us the ability to subdue the flesh. One way to do this is through fasting

Whenever you observe you are careless about God or His word, or whenever you experience spiritual dryness, begin to seek God in prayer and fasting. The bible speaks of the renewal of strength as we wait upon the Lord. Fasting is a way of waiting on God as it helps you fix your eyes on God.

Keep your passion for God alive by fasting

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ see us through in times of weakness. Amen
