Text: Genesis 3:1
Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”
One of the biggest challenges of man is knowing the voice of God. Many times we struggle with conflicting opinions in our minds. Two or more different suggestions to the same problem, leaving us confused. For Adam and Eve, the devil visited them with a question “Did God really say that? This created doubts in their minds if God really meant what he said when he instructed them not to eat the fruit of that tree. Remeber, the nature of the devil is being cony. With his (The devils) years of experience, he tries creating doubts in the hearts of men even today.
Did God really say you will enjoy good health? Did God really say you will succeed in that examination? Is God really able to see you through? does God really want to help you in that situation? these and many more questions the devil bring our paths. One predominant evil these questions create in us is doubt, and whenever doubt sets in, fear becomes dominant. For this reason, we must learn to answer the devil correctly whenever he asks “did God really say…?”
Note, No proper answer to the questions of the devil than the word of God. Even Jesus when he was tempted by the devil replied with the word of God. For this reason, to defeat the devil when he comes checking, we must understand and use the word of God. Rebuke the devil always by speaking out the word of God. Did God really say you will be well? “Yes, for the bible says By the strip of Jesus I was healed! (Isaiah 53:5)”
We must understand the power of words. Words create, words destroy… always fight the devil by speaking out. By the way, the devil never hears what you say in your heart. Rebuke him aloud and he will flee from you!
The word of the Lord is our greatest weapon, always speak the word of the Lord to clear whatever doubt the devil brings your way.
Prayer: Lord give me a deeper understanding of your word and help me apply your word in every area of my life. Amen
